I’m a pretty big movie guy. I love movies. I have a pretty hefty movie collection at home. It’s one of the reasons why I love working with Red River Theatres whenever I can; because we all love movies.
Red River had the chance to show two advance screenings of the Dowton Abbey movie in advance of it’s national release date, and I wanted to be involved. These two screenings encouraged RRT members to dress up in Dowton appropriate attire and help ring in the film with some celebration, and I absolutely wanted to be involved.
The Hotel Concord graciously let me use their main room to photograph the attendees in their superb Downton attire for both nights of the event.
I wanted to keep things simple and elegant, so I bring in a backdrop that emulates a spotted muslin, and we photographed the guests in front of it.
A simple sepia tone was added to the images to make them look more like they were taken in 1910 rather than 2019, and the images where then shared online on RRT’s Facebook page.
Everyone had a great time, and it was great photographing everyone in their outfits and acting “Dowton Abbey”-ish.

It was a great night with good friends celebrating movie premieres. What is not to love about that?
