Cubicle Zombies and war paint and time machines. Since 2012 Weather Mcnabb and I have been trying to work together. In 2018 we finally got to create images for her 5 song EP “Cubicle Zombie”Read More
I’ve been photographing head shots for a local bank in the Nashua area. The HR manager, located in another state, contacted me directly because she likes my clean, modern feel for head shots. I love shooting on a white and making elegant, contrasty head shots - It eliminates visual clutter. A nicely cropped head & shoulders head shot gets you up close and personal.
Are YOU interested in a clean, crisp, compelling head shot? Let me help you look elegant.
It's time once again to air the place out and open our doors to visitors! The Picker Artists are having their Spring Open Studios on Saturday, May 4th 2019 from 11-5pm.
Stop by, say hello, and catch up with all of us. It's the perfect chance to meet if we've never met, and ask questions in person if you are thinking about an updated head shot.
Come visit us! We love friendly faces!
See you on May 4th!
I love helping people create new head shots because I never know who I’m going to get to work with.
Carla contacted me after being recommended by a prior client (Thank you, Kate!). She was going to toss her hat into the political ring and run for Senate, and she needed a new head shot.
Carla was an absolute joy to work with. She was so friendly and she had great humor. She grew up in Africa and she wanted to wear a few things that hark back to her home.
I love her smile and her adorable pixie hair cut and she had she was just so warm and friendly and a joy to be around. I really liked photographing her and working with her.
I also get a kick when I see an image I created being used for things like billboards:
I had a very bad experience a few years ago with an image I took of someone and that head shot was taken by someone else and used politically in an attack print advertisement without my permission or knowledge. It’s taken a few years to get comfortable enough when someone approaches me asking about creating an image that will specifically be used for a political reason. Carla was so energized that she helped me feel comfortable making an image that was going to be used for that purpose.
I would love to photograph her again.
Lauren had wanted to work with me for many years but it was never the right time until recently when she needed an updated headshot for her business and LinkedIn pages. But as you can see from the image above, this session became much more than a headshot session.Read More
Josh and Owen are brothers. They are into anime and games and the same kinds of stuff that I love. They both wanted some headshots to use as they both approach graduating from high school. Josh (the older brother) wants to get into anime voice acting. How cool is that?
They both came up with their mom Amy from Massachusetts and we spent the morning making headshots and talking about all the pop-culture stuff I have hanging on the walls here at the studio. Before they left we got a shot of the two of them together (above)
Both of these guys were great. We hung a bit to help them relax, but they both photographed fantastically, and I know they were both happy. Mom even emailed me towards the end of the year to let me know Owen was already saving up for another session down the road.
I can make you look just as good. I love making clean, clear, crisp headshots. Consider hiring me if you happen to read this and are thinking about it. At least come visit me at the studio so we can chat a bit. That's free :)
Aaron is currently the hottest thing in the world of design. You might have seen his book. You've very probably seen some of his work, somewhere. You might even jot notes down in his Field Notes branded notebooks. I've been a big fan of his work for a while now, and when my wife Sara told me she booked him for an appearance at NHIA as part of his cross-country tour, I knew I had to make a portrait of him.Read More
I love record and album design. Part of what I hope to do as a photographer is make images and help musicians design album covers for their releases. I love the square format of album covers. And nobody has made better album covers than the jazz music label Blue Note Records. There was a period in the 1950's and 1960's where Blue Note was producing what I consider the greatest album design in history. I wanted to share a little bit about it and why I love it so much.Read More
I’m a sucker for using a “beauty dish” and I just wanted to share how awesome a more recent piece of gear I purchased is and how it solved a small problem I had when it came to transporting and location gigs. The Westcott Rapid Box Collapsible Beauty Dish. It’s a mouthful to say, but I’m so in love with it.
Except the price. I hate the price. Read more after the cut:Read More
