Boston Voyager featured an article about me back in September of last year. You can read it here.
Right about the time I posted this in September on social media, Boston Voyager started to get a bunch of negative press on how they conduct their interview process. I didn’t experience anything crooked or underhanded; they interviewed someone else and at the end of the interview questions, they ask the person to recommend 5 other people that might be interested in being interviewed. Someone had given my contact info, and I was asked. I did the interview and at the end I suggested five artists who I thought would appreciate the FREE PRESS of having an article about them that they could then link to.
That’s it. That is all this website is doing. They populate their website with free interviews. They ask for more people, probably to create some kind of marketing list or database, and that’s pretty much it. After the article came out someone did contact me asking if I’d like a buy a framed version of the article that I could hang on my wall, which I declined, but that was the only “hard sell” I got.
Everything felt totally legit to me. It only took a little of my time answering the questions, I get featured on a website that I can then hotlink to and add it to my list of “cool things about Sid” for people that want to dig deeper and read up about me.
Either way, I’m happy with what I wrote, so if you are interested in digging a little deeper about me, give it a read :)
