How teaching a workshop on Star Island on the Isles of Shoals got me a new corporate client.Read More
Between 2007 and 2009 I worked a few days a week at our local mom ‘n’ pop camera store. It had been in business for 60 years and three generations of family worked there. Nathan also worked there although he was the only non-family employee that worked there besides me. The tough economy helped in the closing of the camera shop on the last day of 2009. I hadn’t seen Nathan since.
Then, unexpectedly, he recommended a friend to me that needed head shots, and a few weeks later he set up a head shot appointment himself for new images for Linked In. It was great catching up with Nate, who I hadn’t seen in a decade.
I still remember standing behind the camera store computer browsing through gear reviews and stuff.
Sara needed an updated head shot for her job and new haircut, and what kind of photographer would I be if I didn’t create a head shot of my own wife!!
He she is looking fan-freaking-tastic.
Black & white is so elegant. It’s crisp and classy.
Let me make images of you that look this excellent!
Amy found me via Thumbtack and needed an updated head shot for her place of work. She really liked the color version of this.
here is the same shot in black & white:
Amy was really great to work with and I’m crossing my fingers we’ll get to work together again.

I’ve been photographing head shots for a local bank in the Nashua area. The HR manager, located in another state, contacted me directly because she likes my clean, modern feel for head shots. I love shooting on a white and making elegant, contrasty head shots - It eliminates visual clutter. A nicely cropped head & shoulders head shot gets you up close and personal.
Are YOU interested in a clean, crisp, compelling head shot? Let me help you look elegant.
I love helping people create new head shots because I never know who I’m going to get to work with.
Carla contacted me after being recommended by a prior client (Thank you, Kate!). She was going to toss her hat into the political ring and run for Senate, and she needed a new head shot.
Carla was an absolute joy to work with. She was so friendly and she had great humor. She grew up in Africa and she wanted to wear a few things that hark back to her home.
I love her smile and her adorable pixie hair cut and she had she was just so warm and friendly and a joy to be around. I really liked photographing her and working with her.
I also get a kick when I see an image I created being used for things like billboards:
I had a very bad experience a few years ago with an image I took of someone and that head shot was taken by someone else and used politically in an attack print advertisement without my permission or knowledge. It’s taken a few years to get comfortable enough when someone approaches me asking about creating an image that will specifically be used for a political reason. Carla was so energized that she helped me feel comfortable making an image that was going to be used for that purpose.
I would love to photograph her again.
Lauren had wanted to work with me for many years but it was never the right time until recently when she needed an updated headshot for her business and LinkedIn pages. But as you can see from the image above, this session became much more than a headshot session.Read More
Josh and Owen are brothers. They are into anime and games and the same kinds of stuff that I love. They both wanted some headshots to use as they both approach graduating from high school. Josh (the older brother) wants to get into anime voice acting. How cool is that?
They both came up with their mom Amy from Massachusetts and we spent the morning making headshots and talking about all the pop-culture stuff I have hanging on the walls here at the studio. Before they left we got a shot of the two of them together (above)
Both of these guys were great. We hung a bit to help them relax, but they both photographed fantastically, and I know they were both happy. Mom even emailed me towards the end of the year to let me know Owen was already saving up for another session down the road.
I can make you look just as good. I love making clean, clear, crisp headshots. Consider hiring me if you happen to read this and are thinking about it. At least come visit me at the studio so we can chat a bit. That's free :)
Roland found me through Thumbtack, which is something new I'm trying for 2017. He was looking for some clean, crisp portraits of himself before he retired from the Hampton NH police force wearing his dress uniform and before he had to hand it in. I shot him over some example images on white and on black and told him I'd like to shoot him on simple solid-color backgrounds so that you focus on him and not be distracted by elements behind him. He liked my work and we arranged a date in the studio.
I've never had the chance to photograph a police officer before, and it was great afternoon of me asking questions and talking about his service. He took extreme pride in what he does and his uniform, and I really enjoyed getting shots that reflect that.
The above image is one of my favorite. It's so direct. It almost feels confrontational, but I love the slightly upward angle that I shot him at.
A detail shot that I really like. I love the composition and the angle of his shoulder.
