A few weeks ago I got to work with local singer/songwriter Matt Jackson. We took a day and did some new images for his press kit, promotional and we also did photography for his new CD "Prove You Wrong"
We started shooting in the studio. I wanted Matt to have some looks on an all white background and I also wanted him to have some images on an all black background. I think its important to have really nice, simple, clean images that can be used for a myriad of purposes.

After shooting Matt on the white backdrop, we broke that down and did some shooting on black.
After we good some good shots in the studio, we decided to move to our location to work on images for what would become Matt's new CD artwork. The idea we wanted to try to capture was him dressed up in a "nerdy" outfit. He had the idea of a character trying to write out equations on a chalkboard in order to "Prove You Wrong"; as if he was mathematically proving the other person wrong.
For the location shoot we went over to Studio 99 in Nashua. We needed a large chalkboard that would let us draw all over it, and Studio 99 had the perfect large size board for us to use. We moved things around and Matt brought in someone to do the front and back layout for the text and design.
Here are a few out-takes from the front cover shots:

Matt had a crazy few days; as soon as we finished the photo shoot, he zipped off to the recording studio to totally re-record his new album and needed to have it ready for Black Friday, which was when he wanted to unveil the album during a performance at a local mall.
The final project!!!
If you get a chance, check out Matt when he is in town!
